Dance levels

In our Babies and Kids classes, there are no different levels: groups are mainly organised by age.

From Young and Teen onwards, we offer different levels so that each student can enjoy the classes and progress according to their previous experience and knowledge. At Dance Emotion, we have 4 levels that indicate the difficulty of the classes:

🤍 BEGINNER
I have never taken classes in this style before and I want to start from scratch, learning the basic technique and fundamentals.

🩵 BASIC
I have at least 1 year of experience and a solid foundation in this style. I know the fundamental steps and can follow simple choreography.

💚 INTERMEDIATE
I have more than 2 years of experience and I’m ready to take on new challenges, improve my technique and work on more complex choreography.

💜 ADVANCED
I have more than 3 years of experience and I’m ready for classes with greater technical demands, a faster learning pace and highly challenging choreography.

Not sure which level is right for you? Don’t worry! Our team will be happy to advise you and help you find the class that best suits your experience.

Can parents come in and watch their children’s class?

At Dance Emotion, we are fully committed to supporting our youngest students throughout their learning and settling-in process. For this reason, parents and family members are not permitted to stay in the classroom or access the changing room area during classes. We have a team of teachers and monitors who are there to support the students at all times and help them with anything they may need, especially during their first few days.

And don’t worry! Throughout the year, we organise different activities and special events where you can come and watch them, take part and dance together. Ask at reception for the dates and activities planned and… save them in your calendar!

Can I make up the class?

Yes, as long as you give at least 12 hours notice (the sooner you know the better) you can always make up the class within the same week, at an equivalent or lower level. The easiest way to manage make-ups is through the school’s mobile app.It will not be possible to make up the class after this time slot or even after the class has already passed.

Is there a uniform for dance classes?

The clothing you need depends on the discipline:

  • Classical Ballet: you are required to wear a leotard, tights and ballet shoes, which you can purchase at the Dance Emotion reception desk. If you don’t have the appropriate attire, you can attend the class in fitted clothing.
  • Modern Jazz and Broadway Jazz: fitted clothing, such as leggings and a T-shirt, is recommended so that the teacher can see your movements and provide the necessary corrections.
  • Urban and Contemporary: you can wear comfortable clothing or a tracksuit.

Important: street shoes are not allowed in the studios, and classes cannot be taken wearing jeans.

If you need to purchase any of the required items, you can check the prices at the reception desk. Our goal is to provide you with everything you need at the best possible price. We’ll be happy to help!

Are there any changing rooms and showers?

There are changing rooms available. We also have showers at the following locations:

  • Calle Calàbria, 253 (Eixample), 2′ away from Sagristà for if needed
  • Calle Mejía Lequerica, 10 (Les Corts)

How many days a week do you recommend?

Each class follows a weekly schedule. We always recommend combining it with more than one class per week to continue improving — either in the same style or a different one!

End-of-the-year showcase

The course usually ends around mid-June, just before the San Juan holiday. We then host the end-of-year festival for the entire school.
It’s an unforgettable experience and the culmination of a whole year of effort and learning, a highly valued and beloved event for all students. Participation is optional but highly recommended.
Parents need to purchase tickets to attend the festival, while it is free for students. For more information about costume costs and ticket pricing, feel free to contact the front desk.

“WE’RE DELIGHTED WITH DANCE EMOTION!!

Maku is a great K-pop teacher. He demonstrates the moves, corrects mistakes, and has such a great vibe! There’s also a really nice atmosphere in class.

Overall, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is very welcoming.

My daughter is so happy, and that means a lot because it says so much about the school!!

We highly recommend this school!”

“It’s a great dance school! My daughter takes 4 different dance disciplines, and she loves every single one of them. The choreographies, the teaching method, the teachers... everyone gets a 10 out of 10! Highly, highly recommended if you’re looking for a dance school.
You can try any dance style without the limitations of traditional schools, where you can usually only attend one specific class. The customer service is excellent, and the teachers are very involved. They share their passion for dance and inspire you to keep learning and improving with every class.”

“I discovered Dance Emotion because my daughter used to take hip-hop classes there. When they opened the Les Corts school, I didn’t think twice about joining. I’m delighted with the teachers; they’re super attentive and a lot of fun. The facilities at Mejía Lequerica are fantastic. I would definitely recommend it to any adults who want to start dancing!”

“A high-level dance school! The teachers are amazing; you can tell they’re highly trained and have a wonderful way of working with children. My daughter has been at the school for a year and has improved tremendously. They bring out the best in her, with intensive, disciplined training to prepare for competitions.

The studios are spacious and everything is very clean.

We’re very happy!!! 😊”
