Marie La Santa is Marseillaise by birth, she grew up between Ibiza, Amsterdam and France in a mestizo and musical environment.

From a very early age he shows interest in music and movement. This led her to perform contemporary dance for 3 years at the Conservatorio Superio de Danza de Alicante.

Following her desire to broaden her knowledge, Marie landed in Salvador de Bahia where she completed a one-year master’s degree in Orisha dances at the UFBA in Salvador de Bahia.

After having tried many different styles, and following her research, it was when African sounds reached her ears that Marie decided to become a professional.

She studied 6 years of traditional Mandinga dance of West Africa, and after several trips to various countries of the African continent, she discovered in the cities of Ivory Coast and the musical trends and dances such as Coupe Décalé, Ndombolo and Azonto.

Marie has trained with international choreographers / choreographers and dancers both in Africa and Europe, she has also received master classes with native residents in different diasporas in Paris, London and Amsterdam, she was a graduate of the Afreekabestdance 2017 and represented Spain in 2018.

In love with AFRICA and its cultural richness, Marie is totally devoted to these disciplines and collaborates with important artists such as Ordinateur and Petite Zota, also participating as a dancer in artist promotions in Burkina Faso, Guinea, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

Since 2017, Marie travels teaching Afro-urban workshops all over Spain, organizes cultural events with national and international artists and dancers and is currently the cultural director of Afrobeats Barcelona.
